With just a few hours from the last day of transfers, Tottenham refused an offer of 45 million € for Modric from Chelsea. The Croatian midfielder would have been transferred to Chelsea which increased its offer to not more than 45 million for him, but even so, Tottenham would not let the player go.
Being one of the biggest offer refusal from this transfers window, as the Croatian midfielder kept his position, the Blues had to shift to another player in order to solve its problems in the middle, where the team has to suffer in the creation domain since Ballack ruled the games for Chelsea.
Found in an awkward situation, with money to spend and no players available, Chelsea made an offer of 35 million for the French player Franck Ribéry, although Bayern requires 5 million more. Londoners would pay a salary of 12 million euros per season, hoping to lure him to London.
Franck Ribéry was born on the 7th of April 1983. He is a French international footballer who currently plays for German club Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga and has a weekly salary of 200 000 euros.
