After a painful loss against long-time enemies Liverpool, Manchester United coach, Alex Ferguson wants to rebuild the entire squad in during the summer, through acquisitions totaling approximately 100 million pounds.
The list includes players like Ferguson Gareth Bale (Tottenham, £ 30 million), Ashley Young (Aston Villa, £ 20 million), Jordan Henderson (Sunderland, £ 15 million), Jack Rodwell (Everton, £ 20 million), Alex Oxdale-Chamberlain (Southampton, £ 10 million) and Maarten Stekelenburg (Ajax Amsterdam, £ 10 million).
Manchester’s 69th years old coach wants to leave behind a young and competitive team, when he’ll decide to retire.
With 24 years as manager of Manchester United, he is the longest serving manager in their history after overtaking Sir Matt Busby’s record on 19 December 2010. His tenure is also the longest of all the current League managers. During this time, Ferguson has won many awards and holds many records including winning Manager of the Year most times in British football history. In 2008, he became the third British manager to win the European Cup on more than one occasion.
He was knighted in 1999 for his services to the game and also holds the Freedom of the City of Aberdeen
