Chelsea vs Liverpool 1-2

Liverpool begin to recover from very bad start of the championship, and manages a very important victory on Stamford Bridge. Manchester City is unstoppable!

Manchester City continue the series of successes at home, managed to win against the Wolves with the score 3-1. This victory consolideza their advantage against Man Utd after 10 rounds played in this edition of the championship have 5 points in front of them, and also an excellent first championship with 9 wins, 1 draw and no defeat, desemenea should be noted that home have five wins from as many matches.

After the game, Roberto Mancini said “I was sure this would be a difficult game. We had a problem after the sending off, but I think in the last 25 minutes with 10 men we played terrifically, and defended well. I am very proud because we played very well and deserved to score more goals.”

QPR faced Aston Villa

QPR faced Aston Villa in a frustrating game full of controversies. Left in 10 after Armand Traore was eliminated, QPR snatched a dramatic point in second-half stoppage time, thanks to Richard Dunne’s late, late own goal.

Alan McLeish, manager of Aston Villa said: “I am gutted that we threw it away in the dying embers of the game after a second half performance which is much more what I expected from these players. The first half was pretty woeful and I let them know that at half-time.”

Dominating in the first half, QPR were overpassed in the second by Aston Villa scoring from an odd penalty in the 58th minute. McLeish continued: “I thought we restricted QPR to only a few gilt-edge chances in the first half and defended well but the irony was that two of our best players, Richard Dunne and Stephen Warnock, ended up contributing to their equalising goal.”

QPR: Kenny, Young, Ferdinand, Hall, Traore, Faurlin, Derry (Helguson 79), Wright-Philips (Smith 86), Taarabt, Barton, Bothroyd (Campbell 66).

Man City dumped Birmingham in Carling Cup

This week in England, Carling Cup is on. One of the games with a lot of interest was the one between Manchester City and Birmingham. In a need to prove that all the money invested weren’t throw out the window, City made the law.

Mancini’s crew dumped holders Birmingham out of the Carling Cup at the Etihad Stadium thanks to a stunning come back from an old injury, Owen Hargreaves. The English midfielder played his first Carling Cup game, playing for 57 minutes and opening the score for City in the 17th minute of the game.

A long time black sheep for Manchester City, Mario Balotelli scored his first goal since March, taking the score to 2-0 and rounded off a simple win for the hosts as they march into the next round of the competition.

Line-up:

Man City: Pantilimon, Onuoha, Kolo Toure, Savic, Bridge(Rekik 78), Zabaleta, Hargreaves(Milner 57), Razac(Scapuzzi 86), Kolarov, Tevez, Balotelli.

Birmingham: Doyle, Spector, Ibanez,Davies,Murphy, Burke, N’Daw, Fahey(Gomis 67), Beausejour, Redmond(King 78), Rooney(Zigic 67).

“I am very happy for Owen, for Kolo and for the team. Owen is a fantastic player and he can become an important player for us. He can play often. “ said Mancini.

Fulham and Blackburn in for a draw

Yesterday, in the 4th stage of Premier League, two teams from the bottom of the table, Fulham and Blackburn Rovers met to settle the things and to gather the points given for the game.

With both teams struggling for early season form, a share of the points was plain dust that didn’t act like it should, lifting the spirits of either set of fans as their teams remain in the bottom three.

Fulham started well the first half but got frustrated soon after the break, when Blackburn started to push. Martin Jol, Fulham’s coach said: “It was frustrating. In the second half we had eight or nine crosses to the near post. They protected that well, but then we need to come up with good solutions. ”

He continued: “We needed better finishing. I’ve heard that we lacked a cutting edge and maybe today we did. Bryan has to cope with it, and he’ll certainly do that.”

The other side, Blackburn, is not satisfied about the result either. The points are like air and they don’t want to be between the bottom places in Premier League.  Their coach, Steve Keane said:

“We came and we were bold, we tried to play, tried to score the first goal, not to come and be defensive, we only did that in the second half when we had to through injury. We’ve got our first point but we really should have had more.”
