Taking chance of the last week before the start of Premier League, Arsenal completed last night the signing of winger Alex Oxalade-Chamberlain from Southampton.
The officials announced that Oxalade-Chamberlain has moved to the Emirates Stadium for a record fee of the club, with Arsenal to pay 12 million pounds now and another 3 millions in add-ons. The player who will turn 18 years old next Monday was long awaited by Arsene Wenger, being categorized as a player with rich potential.
Arsene Wenger, the Gunners manager spoke: “We are delighted that Alex has decided to join us. He is an exciting young player who will provide us with creativity and offensive quality.”
“Alex is a versatile player who can play in a number of positions as an attacking centre midfielder, or wide left and right. He is a perceptive passer of the ball and has a great understanding of the game and looks to be a very good team player.” continued Wenger.
Being a hot player on the market as Manchester United and Chelsea showed interest, Arsenal managed to pull the right moves and took the young player. Now let’s wait for the start of Premier League. It will really be an interesting one.
