This week in England, Carling Cup is on. One of the games with a lot of interest was the one between Manchester City and Birmingham. In a need to prove that all the money invested weren’t throw out the window, City made the law.
Mancini’s crew dumped holders Birmingham out of the Carling Cup at the Etihad Stadium thanks to a stunning come back from an old injury, Owen Hargreaves. The English midfielder played his first Carling Cup game, playing for 57 minutes and opening the score for City in the 17th minute of the game.
A long time black sheep for Manchester City, Mario Balotelli scored his first goal since March, taking the score to 2-0 and rounded off a simple win for the hosts as they march into the next round of the competition.
