Confessions, by Arsene Wenger

In a time of struggle after the best players, it’s time for confessions. Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, admits that the last season was the most difficult of his career. In any case the Gunners boss remains confident starting with the new season, is his squad’s turn to win the Barclays Premier League title.

Last season wasn’t too bright for after Wenger’s team lost the Carling Cup final against Birmingham City in February, left Champions League in their last game against Barcelona and got on the 4th place in Barclays Premier League. It all added up to a sixth straight trophyless campaign for the Gunners.

Wenger said:”The last part was the toughest season in my career. Emotionally, it was very difficult because we were on a low and then you could see the last three or four weeks were very difficult.”
“They know as well as I know that we were very, very close last season.”

“It demands the strength of character that the champions have. That’s what we want to show.”

These words look like we will have a very exciting season of Premier League this year!

Ferguson changes the wishlist!

In such agitated waters, in the transfers sea, the change in option happens from a day to another. After having a lot of big names on his list, Alex Ferguson, Manchester’s manager has spotted a new dream player: Marek Hamsik from Napoli.

Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, revealed that he put the price on Marek Hamsik, Alex Ferguson’s latest target: “The indecent proposal about which I spoke to let go of Hamsik is for the sum of 100 million . Otherwise, Hamsik will remain here! “Napoli’s president said.

Another big team interested of Napoli’s player is AC Milan but United appear to be favorite. Alex Ferguson wants an attacking midfielder after Paul Scholes withdrawal from the Red Devils. First names were those of Wesley Sneijder and Samir Nasri, but Ferguson hit the hard concrete wall of refusal from Inter and Arsenal in selling those players. Now Ferguson must decide how much to offer for Hamsik.

Will this move be the final one for Manchester? Can Manchester win another title in Premier League with this lineup? Stay tuned!

Rooney in shape!

It is tours time now for every team, more likely a trip in different corners of the world to display new acquisitions, the outfit for next season and to test the level of stamina of the players. Premier League champions, Manchester United, chose United States as a perfect destination.

Rooney played the first 45 minutes of United’s opening United States tour match against New England Revolution. The 4-1 victory shows that the players are in the best shape but this win cannot be used as a guide for what is to come.

Rooney said: “We have to draw a line under what happened on Wembley, have to look forward, not back. We need to look at the trophies we will be competing for and hopefully by the end of next season, we will have some silverware.”

The next season look like a little battle between Manchester strikers. Ferguson has a lot of options starting with Rooney, Michael Owen, Federico Macheda and not forget Dimitar Berbatov and Javier Fernandez. Not being afraid of the competition, Rooney sees in this a positive thing:
“Competition is good. It keeps everyone on their toes. It is exciting to have so many strikers. It means everyone will have to be on top of their game to keep their place in the team.”

With all those very valuable players can bring the title home again this year? Everything shows that it will be a disputed season of Barclays Premier League.

Real Madrid interested of Tevez

In this time of the year everybody wants the best pick but for now, the hottest player for a transfer is Carlos Tevez. After City refused Corinthians offer of 30 million euros, it seems like someone else is very interested about Tevez.

Jose Mourinho is determined to swipe Carlos Tevez of Corinthians. Knowing that they have a polished gem, Manchester City rejected Corinthians offer and will require at least 58 million euros for their captain! In any case, City officials suspect that the offer of the Corinthians is just a plan to mask the Real interest regarding their player.

Mourinho admitted he needs a striker and Tevez’s agent has spoken with Real.

“A move to Spain would solve the adapting problem of his family. It’s all about language and culture. In Spain, they would speak the same language. We can see many players from Argentina and Brazil living in Spain and have adapted easily” said agent.

Corinthians‘s director admitted that they cannot provide more money for the player and tried to talk about a possible loan, but likely has minimal chances.

Will Tevez see this move like a solver for his problems? Only time will tell.

Liverpool on shopping

This is Christmas for every manager from any team. It’s the time when they are showing their demands regarding future players that might change the result for the games what are to follow.

Like all over the world, in UK, Liverpool really wants to solve their problem regarding the left quarterback position and laid eyes on Marcelo from Real Madrid. The Brazilian player had the best season of his transfer from Fluminense in 2007, but could be removedfrom the first 11 after Coentrao from Benfica, was bought for the same position with 30 million euros.

With the reason that Marcelo would have minimal chances to take Coentrao’s or Angel Di Maria’s place on the extreme left, Marcelo might prefer to leave even in the summer.

Liverpool is the one that wants to take advantage of the situation and taking the 23 years player. And as the owners from Liverpool have offered two years ago no less than 20 million on a defender, and the new American owners are willing to invest as much as needed in the title with the number 19, the transfer seems achievable!
