Chelsea is not the only team that takes advantage of every moment of the last days from the transfer period. Another important is Kenny Dalglish’s warriors. After he spent 120 million since his arrival in winter, Liverpools manager took the lead and got the best young player at the Copa America.

The media from Uruguay confirmed that Liverpool managed to buy the defender Sebastian Coates for 4.5 million euros. Best young player of the Copa America was a target also for Dnepr and Manchester City.

Waiting for the new season to begin, teams are on for friendly games to test their players and make the first impressions. One of these games is the one between Liverpool and Hull.

Hull City thrashed Liverpool in this friendly. It is worth noting that this was by no means a hugely weak side that Kenny Dalglish selected for this match against Championship opposition, the likes of new keeper Doni, Jamie Carragher, Maxi, Alberto Aquilani, Martin Kelly, Joe Cole and David Ngog and in the second half saw Jordan Henderson, Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam and Dirk Kuyt in action.

The goals were scored for Hull City by R. Brady 21’, R. Koren 34’ and J. Simson 59’.

Could this be an attention sign for Liverpool?

This is Christmas for every manager from any team. It’s the time when they are showing their demands regarding future players that might change the result for the games what are to follow.

Like all over the world, in UK, Liverpool really wants to solve their problem regarding the left quarterback position and laid eyes on Marcelo from Real Madrid. The Brazilian player had the best season of his transfer from Fluminense in 2007, but could be removedfrom the first 11 after Coentrao from Benfica, was bought for the same position with 30 million euros.

With the reason that Marcelo would have minimal chances to take Coentrao’s or Angel Di Maria’s place on the extreme left, Marcelo might prefer to leave even in the summer.

Liverpool is the one that wants to take advantage of the situation and taking the 23 years player. And as the owners from Liverpool have offered two years ago no less than 20 million on a defender, and the new American owners are willing to invest as much as needed in the title with the number 19, the transfer seems achievable!

Liverpool humiliated

This Sunday, shock in Premier League. After a good game with occasions on both sides, Tottenham Hotspur managed to obtain a precious victory against Liverpool. With the 2 goals advantage, Tottenham Hotspur seized the advantage in the race for the final Europa League spot as Liverpool’s first match since the appointment of Kenny Dalglish as permanent manager ended in defeat.

Kenny Dalglish: “They started better than we did and scored a goal and we didn’t start to play for 25 minutes. We started to look a bit better and then at the start of the second half they got the second goal and that gave them a real foothold and we didn’t have enough to break them down. I don’t think Pepe Reina was over-busy either but we never played as well as we can play. We feel we have short-changed the fans by not getting the result.”

Harry Redknapp: “We played well. We kept the ball and played some good football. There were some good performances. The back four were excellent. To come here and win is a rarity for Tottenham. But we have done it today and I thought we deserved it.
It was a good performance. We’re trying to get in that fifth spot like Liverpool. We’ve both got big games next week and we will see what happens then. You still want to finish as high as you can. You want to be in the Europa League.”

Liverpool in bussines

One of the top teams in Barclays Premier League, Liverpool, is in for a big opportunity. Starting with the change in the executive board and with their relations, the club is going to change the equipment supplier.

Warrior Sports, a Boston company, has offered 29 million euros a season to become the official supplier of equipment for Liverpool, more than twice the amount of money paid by Adidas. Adidas gets a huge blow from Liverpool as the club’s T-shirts sales are 4th in the world. Liverpool sell 900,000 shirts and at this time is exceeded only by Real, Barcelona and Manchester United.

The contract with Liverpool is € 2 million higher than that of Nike with Manchester United and will enter into fact at the start of 2012 to 2013 and is an absolute record for English clubs.

Liverpool seems to be changed from grounds. And to support this statement, the club prepares five acquisitions during the summer: Ashley Young, Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam, Gary Cahill and Mamadou Sakho.
