The Hawthorns was the host for the game of West Bromwich against the top of the grid team, Liverpool. Everybody tough that it will be a walk in the park for the red team, the facts were a bit different.
As the game started, each team took the first half of the game to study on the spot the opponent team. The real action, the salt and the pepper of the game, was about to happen in the second half.
Liverpool’s players got to the prize first, in 50th minute when Skrtel opened the score, lighting the fire on Hawthorns. Their joy was for a small period because, West Bromwich puts an equal sign between the two teams after a penalty shot transformed in 62nd minute.
The surprise of the game came in last 3 minutes of the game, when West Bromwich got another penalty kick, changing the scoreboard at 2-1. Liverpool was in its knees.
Skrtel (Liverpool):“We were disappointed because we wanted to continue our winning streak after Sunderland.”
“I am happy for my goal but it didn’t mean anything in the end. My joy would be much bigger if we won.
“I would like to dedicate the goal to my father who celebrated his birthday yesterday, so this goal is for him only.”
After this game, Liverpool is on the 7th place in Barclays Premier League, 21 points behind the leader.
